A lot has happened in East Somerville. New restaurants, the first of two new parks, and that whole Assembly Square thing. But Broadway remains the lifeblood of the neighborhood, and as we wrote last year, dining locally on Broadway means enjoying food from all over the globe.Food14_252summ2

This September, East Somerville Main Streets holds its annual celebration of local cuisine, the Foodie Crawl. You buy a bracelet — just $20 for adults — and it allows you to sample food from more than 15 restaurants on the strip.

For this year’s preview, we thought we’d focus on two newcomers to the scene: La Brasa and Rincon Mexicano. Here, we let the owners and their establishments speak for themselves…

The 2014 Foodie Crawl happens the evening of Tuesday, September 16. For tickets, go here. You can get to the Crawl on the Orange Line (Sullivan or Assembly), or the 89, 90, or 101 buses.
