If you listen to the guide books, Tokyo’s Tsukiji fish market is an excellent place to watch fishmongers auction off the catches to the local sushi restaurants and other assorted fish dealers.
If you ignore that advice and go into the frantic heart of Tsukiji, you get to see much more, such as this worker hauling tuna steaks (and heads) out into the daylight:
